In his speech, the Undersecretary Molteni he has declared "Today is an important day for three reasons: with the inauguration of the Railway Police station here in Fossano, we implement a new garrison of legality and security on the territory. The direction taken is to open police stations and not to close them, because a greater presence of legality in the territory is a greater guarantee of safety for the community. A second important element for the community, is the attention that this Government and Minister Piantedosi in particular, are reserving for railway stations which are essentially the business card and meeting place for students, commuters and tourists.

It was by strengthening the Polfer, placing the military where there are the conditions to do so, carrying out high-impact controls, establishing red zones in some territories, that the attention of surveillance and protection at the stations has been increased, making available new and alternative tools and devices to raise the safety threshold. Finally, It is essential that attention to the safety of railway junctions is concentrated not only in large metropolitan cities, where in the collective imagination there are the greatest problems, but the sensitivity and attention of the minister and the Government has also been focused on smaller realities, which also have phenomena of illegality and criminality that must be fought.

These are the three main reasons that make me proud of what we are doing today., the same pride I feel in recognizing how all this would not be possible without the constant contribution of commitment, sacrifice and professionalism of the women and men of our Law Enforcement Forces".

The State Police garrison, active from June 2024, in nine months of operation it has contributed to increasing the safety of over five thousand travellers who use the railway station on a daily basisThere were over 12.500 checks on the subjects identified in 890 services, carried out at the station and on board the train, 300 escorts were carried out on railway convoys and 110 patrols were carried out along the line.

At the end of the presentation at the Castle, the ceremony continued at the train station, with the unveiling of the plaque of the Railway Police Station, located on the platform of track 1, which was followed by the blessing by the Bishop of the Diocese of Cuneo and Fossano and cutting the ribbon by the Undersecretary of State for the Interior in the presence of the Chief of Police and all the civil and military Authorities, who subsequently visited the premises of the Office.
