Il Gesso and Stura River Park opens the month of March with a series of events dedicated to families and children, including Carnival, nature excursions and interactive workshops to celebrate the International Water Day.
Carnival at the Park – March 1st
The appointment with Carnival is set for the Saturday afternoon, March 1st, At The River House in Cuneo, with the laboratory “Oh what a beautiful castle…”, aimed at children aged 4 to 10. Participants, together with their families, will be able to create a special crown with natural materials, transforming into princes, princesses or jesters.
The activity is not just a moment of play, but an educational experience that develops the manual skills and creativity, also promoting the environmental sustainability through the use of natural materials.
Nature Mission at Oasi La Madonnina – March 16
Sunday 16 March, from 10: 30 to 12: 30, the excursion will take place “Mission Nature | The Winter Oasis” at the 'Naturalistic oasis La Madonnina of Sant'Albano Stura.
This area, created on a former quarry along the Stura di Demonte river, extends for 220.000 square meters and it is one of the most important wetlands in the territory. It includes two large lakes surrounded by reeds and woods, offering ideal habitat for over 200 species of birds.
The excursion will be an opportunity to observe Birdlife in winter and discover the importance of conserving river ecosystems.
International Water Day – March 22
Friday 22 March, in the afternoon, The House of the River will host the laboratory “Maripura and the Gift of Water”, dedicated to children between And 8 11 years.
Through experiments, readings and interactive games, participants will explore questions such as:
- How fast is a river?
- How do lakes form?
- How deep is the sea?
The event will also be an opportunity to raise awareness onimportance of sustainable water management, an increasingly precious resource.
