Bra (Cuneo), anti-drug operation by the Carabinieri. 7 custody orders issued in prison
The military of the Carabinieri Company of Bra have executed 7 orders of precautionary custody in prison issued by the Court of Asti – GIP Office – against 6 individuals of Albanian nationality and one of Italian nationality, considered responsible for the possession for the purpose of dealing of narcotic substances such as cocaine.
The investigation has allowed us to reconstruct the operations of a consolidated criminal network dedicated to cocaine dealing, active in the Cuneo-Asti area and characterized by an alarming operational context, demonstrating once again how the phenomenon of drug trafficking - deeply rooted in today's social fabric - is capable of producing a constantly growing market, constantly supplied and renewed in its main protagonists.
Through complex investigations, it was possible to analyze the gang's modus operandi and reconstruct the entire criminal process: from the organizational phases to the final stages of realizing the illicit profit.
It has been documented that the organization, taking advantage of the 90-day tourist visa, recruited men from Albania who, once they arrived in the Cuneo area, were given the role of “djali”, literally “boy” in Albanian, that is, the person responsible for the sale of cocaine and who were given a monthly salary of three thousand euros, including food and lodging.
Through the visa, the organization was able to characterize itself with profound dynamism in the entry of the “djali” and, upon expiry, take care of their repatriation to Albania. The turnover mechanism, at the basis of the executive phases of the criminal plan, made the identification operations of the pushers complex, aiming to guarantee their impunity.
Once trained in the methods of dealing, the “djali”, equipped with a car, smartphones and encrypted phones, communicated with customers via WhatsApp, collecting the drug packaged in doses and placed in special hiding places dug into the ground, to then deliver it.
During the investigations that led to the execution of the measures, an Albanian subject was also arrested in flagrante delicto, found in possession of approximately 265 grams of cocaine, cash and packaging material, and 5 Italian citizens were reported to the Prefecture as users, with the recovery of 7 grams of cocaine.
