Vicenza: State Police reports 3 foreign citizens for material forgery committed by a private individual, use of a false document and receiving stolen goods.

The Territorial Control Office - "Flying Vehicles" Section of the Police Station of Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza), following ordinary territorial control activities, reported in a state of freedom, in separate activities, the following citizens caught, in the Municipality of Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza), driving a vehicle while displaying a driving license issued by the authority of a foreign country.

The driving documents exhibited showed obvious anomalies and discrepancies compared to the characteristics required by the issuing Authority, such as the lack of anti-counterfeiting holograms or writings that do not react to the Wood's lamp check or the lack of security elements.

In particular in one circumstance, the driver of the Renault Megan SW car, reached by the officers of the Flying Section, after having tried to evade the control by braking sharply at the sight of the police car and parking on the side of the road, at the time of the control, UI, a thirty-seven-year-old Pakistani citizen, registered in TN, exhibited a driving license issued by the Polish authorities which presented several anomalies so as to cast doubt on its authenticity.

Among the anomalies, the lack of the two foreseen safety elements emerged, elements which, when exposed to Wood's UV light, must vary in color and, the “additional security” named “transparent window” did not react according to the requirements indicated by the issuing State.

Considering the driving license to be false, it was seized.

During a normal check, another patrol of the Flying Section, upon checking the driving license issued by the Egyptian authorities and exhibited by ZMTA, a twenty-three-year-old Egyptian citizen, regular on the TN, stopped driving an Audi A3, presented several discrepancies compared to the characteristics foreseen by the authorities of the Egyptian State.

Specifically, when illuminated with UV light, the support did not conform to the original and the support itself was of poor quality.

The license shown, believed to be false, was seized.

A few hours later, during a routine patrol, the Flying Section officers noticed that the driver of the Fiat Panda, RHAG, a forty-year-old citizen of the Dominican Republic, regularly driving on the TN, noticeably accelerated his pace at the sight of the Flying Squad. Immediately reached and stopped for a check, the foreigner showed a driving license issued by the Slovenian authorities. To the touch, the document had a front film glued to the bottom in an irregular and approximate way, furthermore the date of issue printed on the front did not coincide with the date of issue printed on the back. Also in this case, considering the driving license to be false, it was seized.

The seized driving licenses will be, upon order of the Judicial Authority, subjected to a technical-scientific assessment to ascertain their falsity at the Interregional Scientific Police Cabinet of Padua.

All the vehicles checked were subjected to administrative seizure and handed over to the custody of their respective drivers who were charged with a violation of the Highway Code for driving without a license because they had never obtained one.
