Vicenza, stabbing at nightclub, brawl between US soldiers and civilians: one injured, ban on access to public places for all involved.
Last February 6, near the Boys nightclub in Vicenza, two groups of individuals - one made up of US soldiers stationed in Vicenza, and the other of local criminals - became the protagonists of an aggravated brawl immediately after leaving of the aforementioned public business.
On that occasion an Italian citizen - NAM, aged 22 - suffered a stab wound which caused a lesion to his spleen which the doctors of the city emergency room, who immediately intervened to help the stabbed man, judged to be curable with a prognosis of 30 days. The Vicenza State Police, under the direction of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, immediately started investigative activities in order to identify those responsible for the clashes.
The investigations, conducted by the Flying Squad - which also made use of the collaboration of the Carabinieri Setaf Vicenza Company and the Criminal Investigation Command USA - made it possible to identify and acquire circumstantial elements of responsibility towards four American soldiers (HJJ from the 20s - CCA aged 20 – FAC aged 23 – STJ aged 20) and two Italian citizens (NAM aged 22 and BAJ aged 23). The six young people were, therefore, investigated in a state of freedom for the crime referred to in art. 588 of the Criminal Code (aggravated brawl) and, with the exception of the two Italian citizens, for the crimes provided for in the articles. 582 and 585 CP (aggravated personal injury).
This morning the Flying Squad Agents executed the local and personal search decree ordered by the local Public Prosecutor's Office against all the suspects, thus acquiring further investigative elements.
Following this serious episode, which occurred in the vicinity of a public place, the Police Commissioner of the Province of Vicenza, Paolo SARTORI, immediately issued 6 Decrees of Prohibition of Access to Public Businesses against each of the suspects, prohibiting the subjects involved in the fight to access the nightclubs and nightclubs in Vicenza for a period of 1 year.
“The event that occurred last February 6th near a public place in the city was of an unacceptable severity – highlighted Commissioner Sartori –. Our intervention, therefore, beyond the investigative aspects which made it possible to identify the alleged perpetrators, aimed to stem a problem which had already been sanctioned in the past, which has created quite a few concerns in terms of public order and safety. . I therefore considered that the Bans on Access to Public Places issued represent a suitable measure to sanction and prevent this type of illegality in the future".
