Vicenza: on the orders of the Police Commissioner, “Treasure Island” closes for 10 days 

The Police Chief of the province of Vicenza, Dario SALLUSTIO, has suspended for 10 (ten) days the license of the public establishment “L' ISOLA DEL TESORO SNC.” in via Quintino Sella in Vicenza, with the simultaneous closure of the same for the same period.

For ten days, therefore, the premises must remain closed and cannot serve or sell food and drinks or carry out retail trade in food and non-food products, as well as the activity of legitimate games.

The measure was adopted pursuant to art. 100 of the Consolidated Law on Public Safety, given that during numerous checks carried out by the Police Headquarters Flying Squad, the Vicenza Local Police and the Carabinieri, numerous irregularities had been found.

In particular, on 17 January, 19 March and 24 June 2024, during targeted inter-force services, also resulting from numerous reports and complaints from residents, various patrons were identified inside and in the immediate vicinity (18, 10 and 13 respectively on different occasions), with numerous criminal and/or police records, even for particularly serious crimes (weapons, drugs, crimes against property and against the person).

On the occasion of the inspection on 24 June, lto the Local Police of Vicenza, using the anti-drug dog unit, found some narcotic substance near a cupboard located in the anteroom of the room, where he found a handcrafted pipe, presumably used for smoking crack, still warm because it was probably recently used and hastily abandoned due to police checks. In the same context, one of the customers, a 25 year old foreign citizen was found in possession of a narcotic substance for personal use (substance then delivered spontaneously and subjected to administrative seizure).

The area was experiencing a certain increase in crimes in the neighborhood, as also reported by residents (especially robberies, thefts, drug dealing), with consequent social alarm, citizens' concern and increase in deterioration conditions.
Therefore, in order to protect public order and safety, the Vicenza Police Chief has adopted the suspension measure for a period of 10 days.
