During the evening of 19/09/2024, at Vicenza, a targeted intervention has been implemented extraordinary control of the territory for the fight against widespread crime in the city areas subject to reports and complaints.
The activity concerned, in particular, Viale San Lazzaro , Provincial Road Towards Verona, Saints Felix and Fortunato Course, the area of March Camp, Piazzale Bologna e Via Torino.
The service was supported by the Flying Squad, the Immigration Office, the Administrative Control Team of the Police Headquarters, the Railway Police of Vicenza, the Crime Prevention Unit of Padua, the Guardia di Finanza (with the anti-drug canine unit) and the Local Police of Vicenza.
Check 124 people, including 43 foreigners and 21 with criminal and/or police records, 12 vehicles, 2 public establishments/commercial activities.
Two massage centers managed by Chinese citizens were checked in the western part of the city. Several foreigners were identified inside, all of whom were found to be in order with their stay. The businesses were however reported to the Labor Inspectorate for some necessary further investigation.
A property of Via Pittoni, the subject of reports that highlighted its state of abandonment and the presence of possible illegal occupants, was the subject of a targeted check. Two Italian citizens were identified inside, with various criminal and/or police records, resident in the province of Verona but in fact without a fixed abode. They were removed from the area.
Also in Piazzale Bologna the Agents identified two foreigners who were found to be in order with their residence permits and an Italian citizen with no fixed abode who were standing on the ground near the entrance to a private home. They were all removed.
A similar intervention was implemented in Via Torino.
