Vicenza: controls on foreigners' stay in the province intensified, six expelled in seven days

In the last week, on the instructions of the Police Commissioner of the province of Vicenza Darius Sallust, the Immigration Office, working in synergy with the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid of the Police Headquarters, has intensified its activities control, verification and monitoring of the presence of non-EU criminals who do not comply with immigration regulations.

In particular, three foreigners were expelled and accompanied directly to the air border and then boarded scheduled flights for the return to their countries of origin:

  • RA, 36 year old Tunisian citizen, was accompanied to the airport Milano, where he was boarded a flight to Tunis. The man, who for years had been the protagonist – with various false identities – of criminal actions committed especially in the Vicenza area and burdened by numerous criminal records, was taken from prison where he was serving his last sentence. He had been arrested by a patrol of the Flying Squad in August last year for the crime of robbery committed in September 2019 and for which he had been sentenced to 2 years and 3 months in prison. The man had accumulated numerous criminal and/or police records. He had arrived in Italy illegally in 2009 and had legalized his position by marrying an Italian citizen. In 2013 he had been reported for stalking precisely against the spouse from whom he was legally divorced. In this case too he had been convicted.
He had previously been reported for drug dealing and for various thefts committed in Vicenza.
  • MM, 24 year old Moroccan citizen, was escorted to Bologna Airport and boarded the flight to Casablanca by the men of the Immigration Office who carried out the expulsion order. He had arrived illegally in Italy in September 2022 and had applied for recognition of international protection. Following the refusal by the refugee commission, on Monday he was notified of the order and immediately accompanied to the border.
  • SP, 28 year old Indian citizen, was accompanied by personnel from the Vicenza Police Headquarters to the air border of Milano-Malpensa where was it boarded a flight to India. The subject, holder of a regular residence permit, was accustomed to committing crimes in the field of drug dealing and for this reason had been reported several times to the Judicial Authority. For the crimes committed, the Vicenza Police Chief ordered the revocation of the residence permit and issued the order for immediate removal from the National Territory.

Also in the last week, the Police Chief has expelled others two foreigners, originally from the Morocco, with an Order to leave the national territory within 7 days. If they do not comply, they will be reported and escorted to the Repatriation Centers.

Finally, another stranger, originally fromAlgeria, of 28 years, was expelled with escort to the Repatriation Detention Center of Palazzo San Gervasio, in the province of Potenza. The man had been reported several times in Vicenza for drug dealing, for various crimes against property and resisting a Public Official.
