I illuminated allegorical floats will return to color the streets of Vicenza. Carnival events in the city, sponsored by Bcc Veneta e Agsm Aim, expected Saturday February 22 e Saturday March 1, were presented this morning at Trissino Palace from the councilor for major events Leone Zilio, from Vicenza Consortium, and by the organizers of the rich program of initiatives.
«This year too we wanted to offer adults and children a rich program of events for the carnival», the words of the councilor Zilio. «We return with the illuminated masked floats, which for this edition will parade along avenue Mazzini and that, thanks to an animation made of music, live band and cheerleader, will be able to offer a colorful and engaging show. The historic center will also be a protagonist, with three of the main city squares that, for an afternoon, will be the scene of numerous initiatives and activities dedicated especially to children and young people".
«After the excellent response of the last edition», explains the culture councillor Ilaria Fantin, «the appointment with “Carnival at the Museum” is back. For the three days when schools will be closed for the holidays, children will be able to participate in activities in the museums from 8 to 16, with an educational morning and a recreational afternoon. Places are limited and by registration via email».
The main events
Saturday February 22, from To 17 21, it is expected “Carnival in Vicenza”, organized by Events 2000. Long avenue Mazzini, six allegorical floats will parade, preceded by a parade of participants, accompanied by the music of Radio Stella, from Majorettes of Caltrano and from the notes of the Vivaldi BandThe route starts from the intersection between via Framarin Battalion and viale Mazzini, with the parade that will continue along viale Mazzini, on the Mure di San Rocco side, and then stop at the roundabout of viale Trento. There will be a Truck Food, sweet and savoury food outlets, a balloon vendor and an awards stage, which will be positioned on the grass near the city walls. In case of bad weather, the floats will parade Friday February 28.
Saturday March 1, instead, some of the main squares of the historic centre will act as theatres for the various initiatives, with “Circus – Carnival in the Center”. From To 15.30 18.30, the program includes carnival-themed activities aimed especially at children and young people, with the aim of brightening up the traditional carnival days by involving citizens and livening up some areas of the city. The activities will take place in Piazza San Lorenzo e Matteotti square, with the exhibition of a magician in every area, in Piazza dei Signori with an area dedicated to the show eaters, juggler, an area face painting and other areas used for psychomotor skills for children. Going into detail:
- In Piazza San Lorenzo, the magician will perform from 15.30pm John Supports.
- In Matteotti square and in the gardens of Chiericati Palace, from 15.40 pm, there will be a performance by Wizard Mr. Thing.
- Infine in Piazza dei Signori, the show is always scheduled at 15.30 pm, 16.30 pm and 17.30 pm juggler Utku, followed at 18pm by the show of eaters entitled “The Spirit of the Dragon”. The three squares will be connected by the paths of the waders that will enliven the streets of the city centre.
Carnival at the museum
Space for entertainment, but also for culture, finally, the 3, and 4 5 March, from 8am to 16pm, with “Carnival at the Museum”: programme of activities, games and workshops in the museums of Vicenza, for primary school children (6-10 years). Every day the young visitors will be able to "experience" a different museum, thanks to educational workshops, games and activities. The museums involved will be the Naturalistic Archaeological Museum, chosen as the meeting point for all three days, the Gallerie d'Italia in Vicenza, Palladian Museum, Diocesan Museum, Jewel Museum, and the Museum of Palazzo ChiericatiAnyone who wishes can participate in just one day. 25 euros per participant and packed lunch.
