Vicenza: Attacks park keeper, steals smartphone and keys to various playgrounds. 31-year-old arrested.

At 07.10 yesterday the Flying Police intervened inside the playground in Vicenza, via Machiavelli, following a report received by the emergency number 113 for an assault against an elderly person.

The State Police crews, who rushed to the scene immediately, reconstructed what had happened, ascertaining that a person, already known in the news as the perpetrator of numerous bicycle thefts - a 31-year-old from Vicenza BG - he had beaten up the park caretaker, taking away his smartphone and the keys to the various playgrounds in the capital.

The victim was transported to the local emergency room where he is still hospitalized following the trauma he suffered.
At the same time, one of the two crews carried out searches in the area and shortly afterwards tracked down the perpetrator near the railway station, still in possession of the stolen goods.

The perpetrator was arrested for the crime of aggravated robbery and handed over in a state of freedom to the Judicial Authority for the crimes of aggravated personal injury and interruption of a public service considering that the victim belongs to an association that has a contract with the Municipality of Vicenza for the management and custody of public parks, which in fact remained closed that morning.

The public prosecutor on duty has arranged to associate the arrested person with the local prison "del Papa" and in the next few hours will ask the GIP to validate the measure
