Vicenza: 9 access bans to urban areas ordered by the Police Commissioner: Police checks in nightlife areas.
Last week, the Police Chief of the province of Vicenza, Dario Sallustio, adopted numerous personal prevention measures notified both in the city and in the province.
To be precise, thanks to the activity of the staff of Anti-Crime Divisionand 9 DASPO WILLY orders were issued, 5 of which in Schio (VI), 6 compulsory expulsion orders against persons burdened by criminal and/or police records, who were found without appreciable reason and in unjustified circumstances in the Municipality of Vicenza and 3 oral warnings (Preventive Measure provided for by the Anti-Mafia Law Code) against the same number of Italian and foreign citizens who show a marked social dangerousness due to criminal and/or police records for crimes of various kinds, including crimes against the person, drug-related crimes, or against property.
The DACUR (ban on access to urban areas), also known as “Daspo Willy”, it is the last prevention measure that the Police Commissioner can order, introduced by the legislator which prevents those who have been responsible for serious acts from frequenting the most crowded areas of the city and the nightlife.
Among the Daspo Willy notified in Vicenza, SC stands out, a 24-year-old Indian citizen with a criminal and police record, who on the night of July 19, was found in the immediate vicinity of the public place called "La Concinita del Covo", in possession of a kitchen knife with a length of 22 cm, of which 10 cm is a blade, which he wore in plain sight and which he handled calmly in front of passers-by and patrons of the club.
In consideration of the high level of danger of social conduct for public safety and the concern raised by the subject in charge of the managers of the premises in the city centre, creating considerable social alarm, the Police Commissioner of the Province of Vicenza, Dr. Dario Sallustio, has deemed it necessary to intervene, with the necessary regulatory prevention tools, further occasions of externalisation of violence and aggression that endanger Public Order and Safety and that can create discomfort, prohibiting the subject from accessing all public businesses in that area for a period of 2 years.
The ban also extends to loitering in the immediate vicinity of public establishments. Furthermore, violation of this preventive measure by the recipient will result in imprisonment from six to two years and a fine from 8.000 to 20.000 euros.
The activity of notifications of personal prevention measures also concerned Schio (VI) where 5 DASPO WILLYs were notified against five patrons of public establishments in some bars in Schio (VI) who on the night of 21 July had given rise to a brawl that the armed forces who intervened managed to quell with no small difficulty.
Also in this case the Police Commissioner adopted what the legislation requires, preventing the 5 subjects from accessing and staying in the immediate vicinity of all the public places in Piazza Garibaldi and Via Castello, the city center of Schio (VI) and surrounding areas, specifically prohibiting the entry and attendance of five public establishments – “Bar Garibaldi”, “Bar Caffè Nazionale”, “Pub al Leoncino”, “Scledum Bar”, “Bar Gentilla”, “Ristorante Pizzeria la Dolce Vita” – for a duration of 2 (two) years.
