Verona, Youth on the Street 2024: Education and Road Safety at Job&Orienta.

Giovani in Strada 2024 is the road safety and education event organized by the Automobile Club Verona in collaboration and with the patronage of the Municipality of Verona. The initiative, now in its thirteenth edition and the ninth in collaboration with Job&Orienta, in pavilion 9C, will be held from 27 to 30 November at Veronafiere, involving thousands of high school students from all over Italy.

The conference was attended by the Councilor of the Municipality of Verona for Security, Stefania Zivelonghi, the Director of the Automobile Club Verona Riccardo Cuomo and Alberto Riva, President of ACI Gest Srl, together with two representatives of the Verona Strada Sicura association, the vice president Antonio Benedetti and Roberto Zecchinato.

Councilor Zivelonghi he wanted to remember "how the Administration is very committed to road safety both with adults, as we saw last Saturday at the first appointment with the training for motorcyclists. Adults who showed interest and attention. We recall that last year the department also promoted a training course for companies, given that it is the accidents in itinere, that is, road accidents of those who go to work, the first cause of accidents in the company. The initiative, presented today, is therefore part of a panel on which we all continue to work".

The Commander of the Local Police, Luigi Altamura states that "we believe a lot in the information aspects. This initiative also comes close to the entry into force of the new rules of the Highway Code and therefore our operators will also be present to explain these new rules. There is a phenomenon that worries us, which is the return of impaired driving, for which it is fine to also simulate situations of driving under the influence of alcohol or euphoria due to substances.”

The 2024 edition promises numerous activities and innovations, all set up in Pavilion 9 and in the external area C of Veronafiere. Participants will be able to register at the ACI desk and try the breathalyzer course, an immersive experience that simulates the risks of driving under the influence of alcohol. The ACI Ready2Go driving simulator will also be available, made available by the Albertini driving school in Caselle di Sommacampagna, which represents an innovative teaching system equipped with a virtual reality visor offering a futuristic and highly educational driving experience. The simulator completes the teaching offer of the Automobile Club Verona driving schools belonging to the ACI Ready2Go circuit, which have been involved in the field of road education for years in the mission of training generations of responsible drivers.

Leonardo Indiveri's Truck will be one of the main attractions and will offer an educational show with simulations of rollovers, frontal crashes and multimedia testimonies, accompanied by an engaging interactive show on stage every hour in which visitors will also be able to participate directly.

The collaboration with ATV, Main Partner of Giovani in Strada, continues and will be present with the bus “Lupetto” as in previous editions and with the great novelty of a driving simulator. The synergy between the Automobile Club Verona and the transport authority of the city and the Province is aimed at spreading the culture of using public transport among young people, with a view to greater serenity and safety even during moments of fun.

Partners such as Banca Valsabbina, Sara Assicurazioni and Verona Strada Sicura will offer information desks with insights, testimonials and meetings aimed at raising awareness on the topic of road safety.

Near the educational path of Giovani in Strada, there will be stands of the Police Forces, Highway Police and Local Police, and Firefighters who are daily engaged and involved in promoting responsible behavior through their own interactive and impactful activities. The Giovani in Strada experience will then continue in the external area C, where participants will be able to carry out Safe Driving exercises with cars made available by the automotive partner Ceccato Automobili and guided by qualified instructors. The activities that the students will be involved in include the use of the skid to simulate loss of grip and obstacle avoidance and will be preceded by a theoretical session held in the classroom inside Pavilion 9 by ST Driving School instructors, in order to guarantee complete training.

"Giovani in Strada is one of the most important projects we organize, not only for the city of Verona but for all the young people of Italy especially since it is hosted within Job&Orienta - he has declared the President of the Automobile Club Verona, Adriano Baso, unable to attend the press conference due to institutional commitments. – This is an initiative that, year after year, has established itself as a virtuous example of how education, awareness and involvement can positively impact the driving behaviour of young people. Working with the new generations means investing in the future of our roads, helping to create a culture of safety that is not limited to rules, but is deeply rooted in the values of responsibility and mutual respect. Educating them today, through educational courses, practical experiences and interactive activities, means laying the foundations for a more aware society and, above all, for safer roads for everyone".

"Thanks to the collaboration with the Municipality and other partners, we will continue to innovate this initiative, introducing activities that stimulate a deep reflection on the risks associated with irresponsible driving. - he added Richard Cuomo - Every year we try to offer new experiences and content that are able to leave a lasting impression on participants. We are convinced that our commitment can really make a difference in training more aware and attentive drivers.".

The appointment is therefore from 27 to 30 November, with opening hours from 9 to 18 (Saturday until 14). More information on access and the program is available on www.joborienta.net
