Verona. World Earth Day: the tree of rebirth in Santa Teresa Park.
Peace and environment meet at Santa Teresa Park. World Earth Day, there is a new symbol that reminds citizens of the need for greater attention to the protection of the environment in which we live and, never more than today, of the absolute urgency of putting an end to all the wars taking place in world.
It is the seed of the 'Hibaku' tree which survived the atomic explosion in Hiroshima, which Verona is pleased to host and grow in the green area of Borgo Roma what a message of resilience and rebirth.
The initiative is the result of the action of the Nuova Acropoli Odv association which, thanks to the Subsidiarity Pact signed with the Municipality, organizes activities and projects in the area to bring the park to life with a view to participation and awareness.
Hence the involvement of ITES Einaudi students who contributed to the project with the creation of information panels to explain the history of the hibaku tree, retracing the steps that have brought him this far, a result for which Nuova Acropolis participated in an international tender last year.
"As an Administration we can only support this initiative which espouses the values of peace, respect for the environment and the Earth in general, in an area, that of the Santa Teresa park, which will soon see its surface area significantly expanded" said the Gardens councilor, who spoke at the inauguration.
