Verona: the photographic exhibition “All the shades of Blue” arrives

This and much more is “All the shades of Blue”, the traveling photographic exhibition organized by ANAOAI – National Association of Olympic and Italian Blue Athletes – on the occasion of the 75th anniversary and which will stop in Verona from 10 to 15 January 2025.

The exhibition will be a showcase of 40 multi-sport photographs that tell stories of inclusion, commitment, resilience, fun, friendship and much more, promoting the ethics and culture inspired by the Olympic ideals. The photos on display, chosen by the ANAOAI national council, are a journey into the Azzurro world that is touring Italy to promote ethics and culture inspired by the Olympic ideals, a true hymn to sporting memory, a tale of the Italian achievements, of its protagonists and of the inspirations that were born from them.

The Verona stage of “All the Shades of Blue” was inaugurated yesterday, Friday 10 January, by the Mayor of Verona, Damiano Tommasi, and the president of ANAOAI Verona, Alessandra Galiotto, (Olympian canoeist at the 2008 Olympic Games) at Palazzo Barbieri, in the Falcone-Borsellino room, overlooking Piazza Bra where it will remain open until 15 January.

“All the Shades of Blue” was also present at Casa Italia on the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

"A collection of photos – he began Mayor – that immortalize many moments of competition, many successes, but also the stumbles because the emotions of sport are 360°. Photography, in this case, manages to tell the story of sport live. The Municipality wanted to host the exhibition at Palazzo Barbieri, a stone's throw from the Arena, our headquarters is located near the amphitheater, which will host the Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies of 2026. There is just over a year to go, we are at the beginning of a journey towards a stage that will be historic for our city".

"I am really happy and proud that – All the Shades of Blue – is stopping in Verona” – she explains Alessandra Galiotto – “because it will be an opportunity to see, observe and meditate on the value of sport through photographs of great emotional impact. The exhibition has found a prestigious location in Verona such as Palazzo Barbieri, a testimony to the interest and attention that there is for this event. I hope there will be attention and participation in the exhibition, even by the youngest, who with the occasion could get to know and recognize champions of the past. A great opportunity to relive important stages in the history of Italian sport.".

Speaking of young people, Mattia Cordioli, a paralympic athlete and sitting volleyball player for the national team and Cus Verona, and Francesca Tibaldi, a former Italian triathlete and now a sports psychologist, also took part in the event.

Cords stressed that "This is an important moment for many sports that are not usually in the limelight. It is right that they are highlighted because all athletes of every sport make sacrifices and constantly commit themselves every day to achieve their goals. This exhibition highlights many of them who usually do not receive the right recognition".

The event also received applause from MP Marco Padovani who underlined the true sporting friendship that is born between those who practice sport, those who do it at a certain age for health and those who try to emulate the Italian champions.

"Let us always remember the importance of the youth sectors that are behind the photos of all the sports present" underlines the Vice President of the Azzurri of Verona Emanuele Armellini, “and a thank you from us to all the people who educate these young people every day“. In his speech he recalled that the official closing will be on January 15th at 15pm with a special presence: Novella Calligaris, national president and great champion.
