Verona: Three Spanish citizens arrested on charges of voluntary homicide in Spain. 

The State Police arrested three young Spaniards – a 28-year-old, a 26-year-old and an 18-year-old girl – believed to be responsible for the killing of another young compatriot, which occurred a few days ago.

After committing the murder, the three Spanish citizens then attempted to flee to Austria, first passing through Italy, where they ran into a police check.

The highway patrol on duty along the A22 motorway, identified and checked a car with Spanish license plates, parked near the Garda Service Area. The occupants of the car - the three Spanish boys - who in the meantime were leaving the bar of the Service Area, at the sight of the operators, immediately got into the car and attempted to flee.

The State Police officers therefore decided to immediately block the three Spanish citizens, and through the interrogation of the database they discovered that the three young people were wanted by the Spanish Police for having committed a murder in Spain.

The murder would have taken place near a pub, on the night of October 13; the victim would be a man, the ex-boyfriend of the woman in the car. The weapon used would be a rifle, with which the young men would have shot less than a meter away from the victim's head.

After committing the murder, the three Spanish citizens fled in the same car in which they were stopped in Italy. The victim had allegedly had a relationship with the girl in the group in the past, the latter found on board the vehicle together with her new partner and an accomplice, who allegedly helped them commit the crime.

Thanks to the systematic and widespread nature of the checks by the Highway Police, particularly along the motorway, the three Spanish citizens were intercepted, arrested and transferred late in the evening to the Montorio prison at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authorities.
