The investigative activity conducted by the police officers of the Arrest Section of the Flying Squad of the Veronese Police Headquarters aimed at capturing the fugitive, coordinated by the Central Operations Service of the State Police within the framework of the WANTED project for the search and capture of high profile international fugitives, was started in May 2025 following a report from the Romanian Authorities, according to which the wanted man could be located in the Verona area, in possession of falsified Hungarian and Polish documents that concealed his true identity.
The investigations of the Veronese flying squad were therefore initially aimed at identifying the actual false documents in possession of the fugitive, focusing in a subsequent phase on the gathering information on individuals who could have contributed to his fugitive status.
Thanks to this activity, some suspicious vehicles were identified, registered to his relatives residing in other Italian provinces, whose license plates were actually recorded by municipal security cameras installed in the city and province. In particular, targeted and prolonged observation services, carried out primarily to reduce the search targets, allowed us to frame two of the cars that were occasionally recorded at the access points in the southern area of Verona.

A detail that immediately raised the search criteria considering that, During the analysis carried out on social networks, a particular passion of the fugitive for Molosser dogs of the "American Bully" breed emerged.
Thanks to the information collected, Yesterday, the Flying Squad officers managed to catch one of the two suspicious vehicles, simultaneously detecting the presence of the dog in the back seats. Having arrived at the crossroads of Corso Porta Nuova and having recognised the fugitive without a shadow of a doubt, The police immediately stopped and blocked him.
Accompanied to the Police Headquarters for the ritual formalities, During a search, the man was found in possession of a counterfeit Hungarian driving licence and identity card, bearing his photo and the personal details of a Hungarian citizen.
The investigations also revealed that He was also subject to a prison order issued in 2016 by the Court of Pistoia for a sentence of one year and six months in prison for crimes against the person.
Once the ritual formalities have been completed, The recipient of the restrictive measures was accompanied to the Verona-Montorio prison, as provided by the delegating Judicial Authorities, and reported to the Verona Prosecutor's Office for the crime of possession of false identification documents.
