There is time until September 7th to participate for free in the first edition of "Verona to know - The bridges of Verona", the competition open to all photography enthusiasts that tells the story of the city through images and stories.

You have until September 7th to participate in the first edition of the photography contest 'Verona to know – The bridges of Verona'. promoted by the Association of Emeritus City Councilors of the Municipality of Verona.
A proposal that aims to highlight, through the photographic lens, the urban and social changes of the city, identifying contexts that, once highlighted, can provide institutions with evaluation tools to encourage intervention to safeguard an urban heritage, in some cases little known or forgotten, which represents a precious testimony to the changes in the city over time.
Participation is free and open to everyone (except professional photographers) who is 18 years of age or older at the time of registration.
Digital photos and the registration form must be sent by email to: assconsiglieriemeriti@comune.verona.it.
The Association of Emeritus City Councilors of the Municipality of Verona specifies: “in relation to Article 2 paragraph 3 of the Regulation, Writing a short history of the bridge is a minimum requirement for participation in the Photography Competition, while the rest will constitute a preferential element in the evaluation of the project.".
How to participate
The photographs must be unpublished. The photograph must not only depict the bridge over the Adige River but also capture the setting and context.
To participate in the competition you must: choose a bridge over the Adige River located within the Municipality of Verona; participate with a mini-portfolio of up to 3 unpublished photos describing the bridge; write a short history of the bridge and tell a true life story or event that took place on or was connected to it, all documented by testimonies or historical sources (maximum 2000 characters).
Furthermore, each photographer can submit a maximum of 2 bridges with a mini-portfolio of up to 3 photos each.
Everything must be sent in compressed format or via wetransfer to assconsiglieriemeriti@comune.verona.itHand-delivered works will not be accepted.
Only the selected ones admitted to the competition, who will be allowed to be present in a possible exhibition, and in the catalogue, will be contacted via email and the photos selected by the Commission will be printed on matte paper at the author's expense in 20x30 cm format, applied on a 30x40 black cardboard.
Technical characteristics of the image
Post-processed images may be submitted. Digital processing of photographic images using either digital or analog means is permitted.Black and white images, various tonings (including HDR), special techniques, and all standard image enhancement techniques (contrast, brightness, cropping, etc.) are permitted.
Graphic works, even photorealistic ones (renders, 3D images, etc.), and those involving artificial intelligence are not permitted. For this reason, the Jury may require the original to be presented in RAW format. The resolution of each photo must be a maximum of 300 dpi and in JPEG format.
