I Carabinieri of the Verbania Station they arrested a 27-year-old from Verbania, responsible for numerous aggravated thefts, pursuant to a precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge at the Verbania Court.
The young man is believed to be the author of 20 thefts (16 committed and 4 attempted), committed during the night in Pallanza and Intra, between March and August of this year, against various commercial activities and educational institutions in the capital.
All the incidents were perpetrated with the same modalities, the young man, after having forced the entrance doors with blunt instruments, entered the chosen premises removing the cash foundIn many cases, the damage caused to the window frames was greater than the value of the “loot”.
Within the two city schools, some have been removed personal computer and they were forced beverage dispensers in search of the money contained within them.
In the only case where the theft involved a city condominium structure, were removed two electric scooters worth several thousand euros.
Not even the municipal swimming pools where on the night of August 27th, the XNUMX-year-old, after forcing a window, entered the sports facility taking away the sum of only 10 euros from the internal kiosk.
The alarm was raised in March of this year, when a series of close-quarters thefts had caused great concern in the city.
The Carabinieri of the Verbania Station immediately started investigations, acquiring footage from video surveillance systems, collecting and finding traces left by the criminal at the __cpLocations of the thefts (fingerprints, blood traces), listening to witnesses and carrying out various observation services To consolidate the evidence gathered. On several occasions, on-site inspections and collection activities were carried out by personnel from the Verbania Police Headquarters.
The investigative activity carried out allowed us to to positively identify the young man as responsible for all the thefts.
Given the repeated crimes and the evidence gathered, the preliminary investigations judge of the Verbania Court, acting on a proposal from the Public Prosecutor, issued the restraining order, which was executed in recent days by officers from the Verbania Carabinieri Station.
On social media, several citizens had also raised concerns about initiatives aimed at preventing similar incidents and identifying those responsible. The Verbania Provincial Carabinieri Command urges citizens to report suspicious behavior or individuals to law enforcement by calling 112 or going to the nearest Carabinieri station.
