Udine: Police Headquarters anti-drug checks, a Pakistani citizen arrested with 20 grams of cocaine, despite his attempted escape.

The State Police personnel of the Flying Squad of the Udine Police Headquarters arrested a 34-year-old Pakistani citizen of no fixed abode for illegal possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing, resisting a public official and causing personal injury.

During a targeted territorial control operation in the areas surrounding the railway station, aimed at preventing and repressing drug dealing and consumption, in Via Buttrio, the officers noticed a foreign citizen, already known for specific crimes, who was walking away cautiously, holding a fanny pack in his hand.

Once qualified to proceed with the control of the person, the latter suddenly threw the pouch away and attempted to escape, punching one of the officers in the face and putting up a strenuous resistance to the workers who nevertheless managed, after the scuffle, to block it. Having recovered the pouch, the officers found an envelope inside 4 wraps containing cocaine, for a total weight of 20,6 grams, and the sum of 270 euros in banknotes of different denominations.

Taken to the police station, the foreigner, without a fixed abode and no legitimate source of income or support, was arrested and taken to prison.

The narcotic and the money, probable proceeds of the illicit drug dealing activity, were seized. The officer hit in the face and arm was treated at the local hospital and given an 8-day prognosis for the injuries sustained.
