Udine: State Police arrests a fraudster found in possession of false documents

On the morning of Friday, October 18, the State Police officers from the Flying Squad of the Udine Police Headquarters 43 year old Italian citizen arrested for possession of a false identity card.

At around 11.00:XNUMX am, the police noticed two men on board a car that was driving around the streets of the centre, suspiciously observing public establishments. In Via Caccia the passenger got out of the car and he entered a bicycle shop, from which he exited about 15 minutes later, to rejoin the driver.

The officers then decided to identify the two: the person who had entered the shop told them that he had tried to buy an e-bike worth 4500 euros with a loan that had not been successful, showing copy of the request to the finance company and an identity card which, upon closer inspection, is found to be false and registered to a non-existent person.

The police found that the man was addicted to this kind of fraud, to purchase valuable goods through financing paid by different or non-existent persons, of whom he exhibited fake documents and pay slips, also finding him in possession of a New iPhone 16, “purchased” with the same scam the day before in a shop in Treviso, and then subjected to seizure from the operators.

At the end of the activity, the man, resident in another region, was arrested for possession of a false travel document, art 497bis CP, and deferred also to the Judicial Authority for material forgery committed by a private individual and for attempted fraud, in conjunction with the driver, another Italian citizen, to the detriment of the Udine business owner, as well as for the fraud perpetrated the day before in Treviso.

On Saturday morning, when validating the arrest, the GIP, given the serious evidence of guilt and the need to prevent the repetition of the crime, ordered the man to be held precautionary measure of the ban on residence in all municipalities of the province of Udine, while the Police Chief of Udine issued a warrant against him Mandatory expulsion order with a ban on returning to the municipality for 3 years.

On this occasion, the State Police recommends all traders to pay particular attention in the case of purchases of valuable goods committed by unknown persons who try to activate financing for the payment of the same, especially if they do not come to fruition: carefully check the authenticity of the identity documents shown, keeping in mind that, by custom, documents use graphic elements that are typical and highly indicative of the issuing State. On Italian documents (Identity Card, Passport) it is reported the emblem of the Italian Republic and the geometry of the Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome, work of MichelangeloThe images are reproduced with a embossed effect, through a weaving of thin lines, with deformations and variations in thickness. The identity card is then marked with a serial number printed on the front top right and having the following format: C < letter >< number >< number >< number >< number >< number >< letter >< letter > (e.g. CA00000AA).

However, in case of doubt or suspicion, contact the Police Headquarters.
