Al center of the series created by William M. Finkelstein (double Emmy for LA Law), the officers and investigators of the NYPD's 74th precinct, in the Brooklyn neighborhood known as the East Village. At the head of the district, the newly promoted deputy inspector Regina Haywood, whose desire is to protect the community and ensure that her team becomes part of the social fabric of the neighborhood.
