Turin, the State Police seizes hundreds of dangerous firecrackers. The activity led to the arrest of three citizens and the reporting of a fourth

New seizure of firecrackers by the State Police in the hours before New Year's Eve 2025. The activity conducted by personnel from the PAS Division of the Turin Police Headquarters led to the arrest of three Italian citizens and the reporting of a fourth.

Agents from the Administrative and Social Police Division monitored a stall with freely available fireworks on display, located near a fuel station in the Regio Parco neighborhood. The activity was managed by several individuals who, in turns, would leave the counter on a scooter and return a few minutes later.

The destination was identified in a building in the area. One of the subjects was seen exiting and entering with flares under his arms; shortly thereafter two other subjects were seen fiddling around near a car parked in the yard.

The police found that three bags and a backpack containing a large number of unclassified homemade explosive devices had been hidden under the vehicle. 15 onion-type paper bombs and 284 firecracker-type paper bombs were found, for a total active mass weight of approximately 8 kilos. These products were highly dangerous due to the lack of safety conditions, the material used in their manufacturing and packaging, and the possibility of causing “sympathetic explosions” (consisting of the ability of a device to trigger the explosion of nearby devices).

All three people were arrested, one of them was also found in possession of 20 firecracker bombs contained in a bag.

The home, located in the building in question, of an acquaintance of the three arrested was searched. Classified pyrotechnic devices with a total weight of 50 kilos were found and recovered. The owner of the apartment was reported at large for the illegal manufacture or trade of explosive materials.

The Turin Public Prosecutor's Office has requested validation of the arrest.
