Turin, theft at the airport. The State Police arrests 2 people
Two Romanian citizens, aged 50 and 54, were arrested for aggravated theft continued by the State Police at the airport in Turin.
An employee at a shop inside the airport discovered the theft of a pair of designer glasses worth more than 250 euros. The woman provided the police officers on duty at the Caselle Airport with video surveillance images. The officers searched for the man captured and tracked him down in a waiting area at the gates. The subject, a fifty-year-old of Romanian origin, was found in possession of the glasses stolen shortly before. The stolen goods were returned to the store. The Romanian citizen was also in possession of a pack of crackers and a bottle of limoncello stolen from another store.
The images also revealed the role of an accomplice who acted as a lookout and who moved with the fifty-year-old inside the terminal. The Border Police officers also managed to stop him, just moments before he boarded. The man, another 54-year-old Romanian citizen, was in possession of two bottles of perfume with a total value of 280 euros stolen from the same shop where the glasses had been stolen.
The Turin Public Prosecutor's Office requested and obtained the validation of the arrest and the ban on residence in the Municipality of Turin. The two were sentenced to a term of 4 months and 20 days.
