Turin, a State Police officer saves a woman with cardiac massage
A State Police officer, off duty, is at home doing household chores when he hears a loud thud followed by cries for help from an elderly person who repeatedly says her daughter's name.
The officer rushes to the apartment next door where the daughter of the elderly neighbors is unconscious on the floor. The woman is not breathing and there is no heartbeat, so the officer performs resuscitation maneuvers. The cardiac massage is effective; after a few minutes the woman regains consciousness and is handed over to medical personnel who have arrived on the scene in the meantime. The woman is transported to the hospital in red code.
The woman is now out of danger and did not suffer any injuries from the attack. In recent days the family members have thanked the policeman for saving the woman's life and the State Police for "the best Christmas present", making it known that, as reported by the doctors, the promptness of the rescue and the way in which the massage was performed were crucial for the woman's life, avoiding damage and negative consequences.
