Turin, illegal minimarket closed and other shops fined for hygiene deficiencies.
During the checks on grocery stores In Turin, the Local Police discovered a minimarket opened without permission, food sold illegally and poor hygienic conditionsThe operation was carried out with the State Police, ASL and Labour Inspectorate.
At the center of the operation were premises and commercial establishments located within one of the areas with enhanced surveillance established by the Prefect's order of January 23, located between via Berthollet, Saluzzo and Valperga di Caluso. While the Police were checking the people present in the activities and in the areas in front, the Local Police carried out administrative checks together with other entities. 3 commercial activities have been suspended, of which 2 for sanitation deficiencies, 2 kilos of food products were destroyed and made fines for a total of 27 thousand euros.
In particular, in Berthollet Street Local Police officers have identified a minimarket that was illegally open. After having contested the illegal opening and the lack of ASL health notification for the owner, they started fines of 9.196 euros and reporting to the competent Division.
Also in via Berthollet, the Local Police officers found in a sales outlet the illegal sale of food.activity has been suspended by ASL staff due to hygienic-sanitary and structural deficiencies, with the obligation to destroy approximately 2 kilos of food.
In a bakery on via Saluzzo, the Local Police found several irregularities. The ASL suspended the activity for serious hygiene deficiencies and structural and ordered the immediate removal of a gas cylinder. In addition to fines, measures have been imposed to correct violations.
Irregularities were also found by the Local Police in a fourth commercial establishment in via Valperga Caluso, which sold food despite a ban, fined 8.054 euros.
Lastly, a business in the Nice area was also checked, where the owner was arrested fined for refrigerators and freezers without a reader of outside temperature.
