Turin, attacks during political events: activist's precautionary measure has been tightened.

La Turin State Police, at the end of an in-depth investigative activity conducted by the DIGOS and coordinated by Prosecutor's Office, has carried out a provision for the aggravation of the precautionary measure already in place against a person involved in several criminal episodes during public demonstrations.

Il GIP of Turin, accepting the request of the Prosecutor's Office, established thatobligation to reside in the Municipality of Turin, applied for a series of crimes committed between the 2023 and 2024 during demonstrations pro Palestine, protests against the current Government and initiatives related to the “G7 Climate, Energy and Environment”, new and more stringent restrictions are added:
- L 'obligation to report daily to the judicial police;
- the prohibition to leave one's home in the evening and night hours.

According to what has been reconstructed by the investigators, the measure arises from the recent referrals concerning two assaults occurred in recent months during political initiatives. The first episode dates back to last November 8st, when some party militants Brothers of Italy they were attacked near an information gazebo set up in the neighbourhood of mirafioriThe second case, which occurred on 27 October, concerns an attack against some young people belonging to the gang Turin National Youth – D'Annunzio Section, engaged in a leaflet distribution activity in front of the Einstein High School.

The judicial authorities consider these episodes particularly serious, especially in light of the repetition of the violent behaviors accused of the individual involved. The aggravation of the precautionary measure therefore aims to ensure a greater protection of public order and to prevent further incidents of violence during political events or public demonstrations.
