An anarcho-insurrectionist arrested in Spain: European Arrest Warrant requested by Turin executed

In a brilliant international operation, the General Information Commission of the National Police of the Kingdom of Spain, in close coordination with the Italian State Police, arrested the Spanish citizen Gabriel Pombo da Silva, well-known exponent of theanarcho-insurrectionismThe measure was carried out in accordance with the European arrest warrant issued by the Attorney General's Office Court of Appeal of Turin, after the conviction of two years' imprisonment for apology and incitement to commit crimes for terrorist purposes.

The sentence is part of the vast operation “Scripta Manent”, conducted by DIGOS of Turin, which dismantled the structure of the international terrorist organization FAI/FRI – Informal Anarchist Federation / International Revolutionary Front, an organization also promoted by Alfred Cospito, sentenced to twenty years and currently detained under regime 41-bis. The arrest of Pombo da Silva was validated on the same day by the Iberian Judicial Authority, confirming the solidity of the investigative framework.

The investigations had already highlighted the ideological and operational contiguity of the arrested person with the subversive association, as well as his role in spreading - with the aim apologetic and instigatory — content related to international anarchist terrorism. In particular, Pombo da Silva published texts on the platform culmination.noblogs.org, which hosted a section dedicated to the so-called “informality”, useful for promoting adherence to the revolutionary project and facilitating connections between the various cells of the subversive network.

A historical figure in the radical anarchist environment, Pombo da Silva had already been arrested in 2019 in Portugal, as part of a complex joint operation between the Central Directorate of Prevention Police, DIGOS of Brescia, Portuguese Civil Police and National Police Corps With this new arrest, European authorities have dealt another decisive blow to international insurrectionist networks, confirming the effectiveness of transnational police cooperation.
