They are 76 men followed in 2024 by the Center for Men Perpetrators of Violence (CUAV) with the project Changes, 23 in the headquarters of Rovereto and 53 in that of Trento, where two of the three courses launched in 2024 take place.
Some of them joined during the year, while others continued the activity they had started in 2023.
Il Trento city center offers men a range of support pathways for emancipate oneself from bullying and violent behavior, acting with a view to prevention and reduction of the risk of relapse.
The groups are managed by psychologists and other specialized figures in the context of combating male violence against women.
It is a free service addressed to men who commit violence arriving with suspended sentence or are they sent by their lawyers, or who still access voluntarily in the absence of complaints and criminal proceedings to work on yourself.
The project is managed by the Maternal Family Foundation di Rovereto in collaboration with Alfid – Lay Association of Families in Difficulty of Trento, with the financing by the Autonomous Province of Trento.
The Municipality, in collaboration with the Piedicastello Historic Center District, in 2023 identified the space to also host the Center for Men Authors of Violence (CUAV) in Trento, which until then had only been located in Rovereto.
These are two rooms on the ground floor of thebuilding in via Verruca 1, which are assigned to Alfid for nine years in exchange for a symbolic payment of 100 euros per year and reimbursement of expenses for the use of utilities (water, electricity and gas).
The Municipality's support for the “ChangeMents” path It was born from the desire of the City Council to identify a space in Trento where men who adopt violent behavior in emotional and family relationships can find a listening point to turn to.
With resolution number 36 approved on 5 April 2022, the Council also reiterated the importance of identifying a "virtuous" chain with other Services already present in the territory, intercepting "at risk" situations that could transform and degenerate, even to the detriment of any minors, underlining the role of institutions in supporting both women victims of violence and men willing to change their behavior.
