Trento, Trento street art table, eight more free walls identified for writers.
Il Trento street art table, active since 2017 and coordinated by the office Youth policies, presents itself as one open discussion space, participated by local entities who together deal with artistic expression, youth social inclusion and education on legality, developing contemporary graffiti art and more generally the urban arts.
The participants (Arianna social cooperative, Adam 0-99 cooperative, Andromeda art studio association, Alchemica cultural association, Il Funambolo, Mart, Superintendence for cultural heritage of the autonomous province of Trento, Kronos art gallery, Vittoria high school of arts Bonporti Depero, TSM Step – Trentino School of Management and three young local writers) collaborate to build and organize the annual program, which offers artistic happenings and urban redevelopment and training opportunities.
An important action by Table, active since 2019, are the free legal walls, public walls marked with special plaques, available for artists to express themselves legally and freely, making themselves known to the public.
The free legal walls currently available are located at the Skate Park in via Hubert Jedin, in Ravina in via Filari Longhi, at Parco Duca D'Aosta, in Povo in via dei Valoni, in the pedestrian underpass of Piazza Venezia, in the car park of the former area Zuffo, in the underpass of via Dos Trento and in the Melta park.
They were used frequently and appreciated by enthusiasts, even writers from out of town, and citizens. They gave life to a open-air museum, which is renewed when the works deteriorate.
To broaden the availability of free legal walls, others have been identified eight spaces that, in collaboration with the state-owned areas maintenance office (Roads) and with the favorable opinion of the Constituencies, they go to integrate the initial proposal.
The new walls are:
- along the pedestrian embankment of Rio Malvasia ai Solteri
- along the descent of the cycle/pedestrian underpass in Canova/Roncafort
- in the cycle/pedestrian underpass of via Padre Eusebio Iori in Clarina
- in the cycle/pedestrian underpass in via Gino Bartali in southern Trento
- in the pedestrian passage between via Chini and the car park in via S. Bartolomeo (as part of the Stra.bene Project, the proposal for the care of the common good "S. Bartolameo wall murals" which will be created by some middle school classes was accepted Winkler)
- access road to the S. Bartolomeo sports field
- in via Caneppele and via dell'Asilo in Roncafort
- in the cycle/pedestrian underpass in via IV Novembre in north Trento.
