Trento, police launch major operation: 23 precautionary measures against two criminal groups involved in theft and drugs.

In the province of Trento, State Police carried out a large-scale operation which led to the application of 23 precautionary measures: 20 pre-trial detentions in prison e 3 house arrest, issued by the GIP at the request of the Prosecutor's Office of Trento for crimes related to criminal association, home burglaries e drug dealing. At the same time, the following were carried out: 35 searches against 35 individuals, 12 of whom were not subject to precautionary measures but were involved in the investigative activities.

Overall, they result 201 charges relating to the numerous thefts that occurred between the summer and autumn of 2024 and to drug trafficking. From the investigations of the Trento Flying Squad the existence of has emerged two interconnected criminal groups:

• one composed mainly of Eastern European citizens, established between Mattarello, the Piana Rotaliana and the Val di Non, active in thefts and drug dealing;

• the other formed by subjects North Africans operating in drug dealing in the city of Trento.

The two groups collaborated on a stable basis, forming a structured criminal association, with availability of vehicles, telephone lines, buildings used as logistics bases and an organized drug supply system. During the investigations, they have already been 6 individuals arrested in flagrante delicto and 9 reported at libertySeized:

• 4,5kg of cocaine,

• 14 kg of hashish,

• 112.000 euros in cash,

• a KIMBER semi-automatic pistol, found to be stolen in 2019 in the province of Perugia.

The operation involved over 160 operators between Police Headquarters personnel, Flying Squads, Crime Prevention Units, First Response Operations Units, drug and explosives detection canine units, and a crew from the Flight Department. For suspects residing outside the province, the execution was delegated to the respective territorial Flying Squads. As always, it is specified that the criminal liability of the suspects will be ascertained only with final sentence.
