Trento, Operation "Drug & Gold": A criminal organization dedicated to theft and drug dealing throughout the province has been dismantled.

A large anti-drug and anti-theft operation conducted by the State Police of Trento led, in the early hours of November 11, to the execution of 23 precautionary measures e 35 searches in the context of the investigation called “Drug & Gold”, coordinated by Public Prosecutor's Office of Trento.

Il GIP of the Court of Trento has arranged 20 pre-trial detentions in prison e 3 house arrest towards people investigated for criminal association aimed at burglaries and drug dealing.

The investigation, conducted by Trento Flying Squad, allowed to dismantle two criminal groups active throughout the provincial territory, operating in close cooperation:

• il first group, composed mainly of Eastern European citizens and settled between Rolling Pin, the Rotaliana Plain, and the Val di Non, dedicated to home burglaries and at the drug trafficking;

• il second group, mainly made up of North African citizens, active in the drug dealing in the city of Trento.

The investigations revealed that the two gangs they cooperated steadily, constituting a real criminal association rooted in the province.

The Eastern European group also supplied the North African one, ensuring a constant flow of cocaine and hashish intended for the local market.

During the investigative activities, they have already been 6 people arrested in flagrante delicto e 9 reported at large.

Overall, they were 4,5 kilograms of cocaine seized, 14 kilograms of hashish, 112.000 euros in cash, considered proceeds from drug dealing activities, And a semi-automatic pistol result stolen in the province of Perugia in 2019.

Overall, the investigation counts 201 charges, with crimes related to both drug dealing and numerous home burglaries occurred between the summer and autumn of 2024 throughout the Trentino region.

The operation involved over 160 State Police officers, including staff of the Trento Police Headquarters, Neighboring Mobile Teams, Crime Prevention Departments, First Response Operational Units, Anti-drug and anti-explosive dog units, and a crew of Flight Department.

For the suspects residing outside the province, the execution was delegated to the Mobile Teams with territorial jurisdiction.

The “Drug & Gold” activity confirms the constant commitment of the State Police of Trento since fight against drug trafficking and predatory thefts, through complex and coordinated operations at the inter-provincial level.
