Trentino Alto Adige: the TAR accepts the appeal. The second order to kill the bear Kj1 has been suspended

"Non-negative" opinion from Ispra on the demolition of Kj1. The Hon. Brambilla: "Our fears are coming true, we will oppose any attempt to kill her!".

Trentino Alto Adige: the TAR accepts the appeal. The second order to kill the bear Kj1 has been suspended.

“We must say enough to the obsession of Maurizio Fugatti's council: nobody touches Kj1”. To say it the Hon. Michela Vittoria Brambilla, president of the Italian League for Animal Defense and the Environment (LEIDAA) and the Parliamentary Intergroup for Animal Rights and Environmental Protection.

“It is important to clarify – adds the Hon. Brambilla – one thing: the Institute for Environmental Protection does not ask for abatement, it simply does not oppose it. As foreseen by the Pacobace - the interregional action plan for the conservation of the bear - besides the killing, the radio collar (which in the meantime has already been applied to the plantigrade) and the capture and moving to an enclosure, as already happened for Jj4, after the death of Andrea Papi.”

“In recent days the TAR ruled in favor of our appeal and suspended the second abatement order, signed by president Maurizio Fugatti who – among other things adds Brambilla – is not applying the provisions of the TAR decree regarding the delimitation of the paths on which the bear is found. Delimiting them, however, does not only mean closing them, but also employing foresters to keep people away, thus avoiding accidents."

“Knocking down Kj1 doesn't just mean eliminating one bear but four, because her three puppies would be condemned to certain death. With our LEIDAA – he concludes the Hon. Brambilla – we have offered several times to move the “problem” bears to protected areas abroad, but the Province of Trento has never listened to us. I conclude by saying that President Fugatti cannot mock the measures of an administrative-judicial body such as the TAR. Killing Kj1 now would not only be an act of terrible cruelty towards the poor bear, but also a significant violation of the law”.

Trentino Alto Adige: il Tar accoglie il ricorso. É stata sospesa la seconda ordinanza di abbattimento dell'orsa Kj1
