The Regional Council of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol has approved important changes to the executive regulation of Regional Law no. 1 of 2005, which governs the “Family and Social Security Package”. The new provisions aim to simplify access procedures, clarify interpretative aspects and introduce additional advantages for families residing in the region.

Pacchetto Famiglia più vantaggi e meno burocrazia per le famiglie del Trentino-Alto Adige

Starting this year, it will be sufficient to demonstrate an initial payment of 500 euros to request contributions. This is the main novelty of the changes to the regulation for the support of families approved by the regional council on the proposal of the councilor for social security Carlo Daldoss, which aims to give greater accessibility to contributions thanks to the simplification of procedures, faster disbursement times with a reduction in bureaucratic burdens and expanded economic support that covers new cases, such as periods of notional contributions.

The new formulation, in fact, provides that in order to benefit from the contributions to support supplementary pension provision, it is necessary to be registered, at the time of submitting the contribution application, with one of the supplementary pension schemes and to have made contribution payments totalling at least 500 euros excluding the severance pay (TFR) and the employer's contribution, thus eliminating the previous requirement of seniority of registrationFor this reason, the date on which the applicant materially made the payment is taken into consideration, regardless of the value date or the date on which the fund attributes the payment itself.

"With this intervention we have responded to the concrete needs of families in our region, introducing measures that not only simplify, but make the contributions provided for by the Family Package more inclusive – explained Daldoss – this is an important step to ensure greater fairness and economic support for those who take care of their loved ones or invest in their supplementary pension. Our commitment is to build a system that is closer to citizens, reducing complexity and accelerating the provision of resources."

Furthermore, contributions for those who take care of the family will also be recognized for periods covered by notional contributions, provided that they do not arise from the loss of employment. This measure is intended for those who dedicate themselves to the care of minor children or non-self-sufficient family members, allowing for cumulation with allowances and leaves already provided for by current legislation.

"Finally, we have simplified the payment methods to facilitate the management of supplementary pension contributions – concluded the councilor – we have in fact established that, in the event of technical incompatibility with the chosen pension funds, the sums will be paid directly to the interested parties.".
