Ostuni: 24-year-old arrested for drug trafficking.

La State Police di Toast arrested a 24enne of Moroccan origin, already known to Police, on charges of drug trafficking. During the operation they were seized cocaine, hashish, packaging material and more 4.000 euros in cash.

The arrest took place on the night of December 12th, within the scope of the territorial controls arranged by the Police Commissioner Giampietro Lionetti ad Ostuni. The agents of PS police station they noticed a foreign citizen that was wandering around the streets of the city centre.

At the sight of the policemen, the 24enne, legal on the national territory, tried to escape the control, further attracting the attention of the agents who stopped him stopped and searched. They were found on him almost 500 euros in cash in small denomination banknotes, the provenance of which he was unable to justify.

During the inspection, the operators found a bunch of keys which the young man could not justify his possession of. Subsequent investigations allowed them to identify a local at his disposal, other than his home.

Inside the property The officers found:

• 66 grams of cocaine
• 5 grams of hashish
• Precision scales
• Cellular microphones
• Material for packaging doses of narcotics
• 3.500 euros in cash, divided into banknotes of different denominations.

At the disposal of Public Prosecutor on duty both at Public Prosecutor's Office of Brindisi, 24enne was transferred to the Brindisi County Jail pending the hearing to validate the arrest which will be held in the next few days before the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Brindisi.
