Brindisi: extraordinary inter-force controls in Latiano and Oria.

In Latiano and Oria, an incisive activity of prevention and repression of crimes was carried out, with an enhancement of security devices, coordinated by the Police Commissioner Giampietro Lionetti.

The activity is part of the extraordinary territorial control services by the State Police, strongly desired in recent months by the Police Chief and shared by the Prefect of the Province of Brindisi Luigi Carnevale and the provincial Commanders of the Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza, to ensure a more significant presence of the police forces in the province.

In order to prevent the commission of illegal actions, personnel of the State Police, together with the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza, with the collaboration of the ASL and the Monopolies, checked several commercial activities and identified 214 people. During the check of 83 vehicles, 3 traffic code sanctions were contested.

Administrative sanctions were imposed on 4 commercial activities for lack of hygiene and health and violations were contested as provided for by the Consolidated Law on Public Safety Laws. Furthermore, the Administrative and Social Police Division of the Police Headquarters is examining the licenses of some activities managed by individuals lacking the moral requirements provided for by the sector legislation.

During the checks, a young man from Latiano was reported to the Administrative Authority for personal drug use.

A woman resident in Oria, instead, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the crime of possession of a narcotic substance for the purpose of dealing. 50,119 grams of cocaine and 85,83 grams of heroin were seized.

As ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office on duty in Brindisi, the woman was taken to prison in the Lecce District Prison.

The activity was attended by officers from the Mesagne Police Station, the Police Headquarters and the Highway Police, the Border Police Dog Units, as well as soldiers from the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza.
