Extraordinary Checks in Torre Santa Susanna and Oria: Arrests and Sanctions

A survey was carried out in Torre Santa Susanna and Oria effective prevention and repression of crimes, with an increase in security devices, coordinated by Police Chief Giampietro Lionetti. The activity falls within the scope of extraordinary territorial control services by the State Police, strongly desired in recent months by the Police Chief and shared by the Prefect of the Province of Brindisi Luigi Carnevale and by the provincial Commanders of the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza, to ensure a more significant presence of law enforcement in the province.

In order to prevent the commission of illegal actions, personnel from the Brindisi State Police, together with the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza, with the collaboration of the ASL, have checked commercial activities, people and vehicles. In particular The Highway Police contested and withdrew the driving licences of three individuals who were using their cell phones while driving their cars. At the outcome of checks on commercial establishments, 2 fines were issued for administrative offences and for one commercial activity the report to the SUAP for the revocation of the SCIA will be evaluated.

During judicial police activity, following house searches, was a person was arrested in flagrante delicto for the crime of illegal possession of a common firearm and ammunition of Torre Santa Susanna. Specifically, the man was found in possession of a revolver pistol and 38 cartridges, as well as a narcotic substance of the marijuana type. Subsequently, near a commercial activity of Torre SS, it was a man was arrested in the act of violating the prohibition on approaching the injured party.

In Oria a another individual with criminal and police records has been reported to the Administrative Authority because he was found in possession of 7g of hashish. The activity was attended by personnel from the Police Headquarters, the State Police Station of Mesagne and the Highway Police, the operators and the Dog Units of the Border Police, as well as military personnel from the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza and personnel from the ASL.
