Carovigno: he hid a gun with a scratched serial number and ammunition in his children's bedroom, the Carabinieri arrest a 33-year-old.

The Carabinieri of the departments dependent on the Company of San Vito dei Normanni carried out a complex activity aimed at finding weapons and ammunition, at the conclusion of which:

– in Carovigno, the Carabinieri of the local station arrested a 33-year-old, already known to the police, for the crime of illegal possession of a clandestine weapon and ammunition. The military, following a search of the young man's home, found hidden in the wardrobe in the bedroom of his minor children:

· a semi-automatic pistol cal. 9×21 with erased serial number, complete with double-stack magazine containing 5 cartridges;

· a box containing 48 cartridges of the same caliber.

The items found were seized. After the formal procedures, by order of the Judicial Authority, the man was placed under house arrest at his home;

– in San Vito dei Normanni the Carabinieri of the local station carried out a house search on a 58-year-old man, who was found in possession of a 7,65 cal. bullet; furthermore, inside the garage belonging to the house, 431 kg of diesel fuel for motor vehicles were found in the possession of the same man, illegally detained, as it is a flammable material dangerous in quantity and quality, contained inside plastic cans and bottles not compliant with current legislation and, therefore, dangerous for public safety; the fuel also appears to have been subtracted from the assessment and payment of the EXCISE DUTY on energy products.

The man was reported and the illegally held cartridge and fuel were seized.
