Brindisi: extraordinary inter-force controls in Cisternino and Villa Castelli.

The State Police, Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza of the province of Brindisi have carried out an incisive activity of prevention and repression of crimes, with an enhancement of security devices in the municipalities of Cisternino and Villa Castelli.

The activity is part of the extraordinary territorial control services, strongly desired in recent months by Police Chief Giampietro Lionetti and shared by Prefect Luigi Carnevale and the provincial Commanders of the Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza, in order to guarantee an increasingly significant presence of the police force in all the municipalities of the province of Brindisi.

In order to prevent the commission of illegal actions, personnel from the Police Headquarters, the Highway Police, the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza, with the collaboration of the ASL and the Monopolies Office, checked 9 commercial activities and identified almost 200 people. During the check of approximately 100 vehicles, 7 traffic code fines were contested and a driving license was withdrawn for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Administrative sanctions have been imposed on some commercial activities and violations have been contested as provided for by the Consolidated Law on Public Safety Laws. Furthermore, the Administrative and Social Police Division of the Police Headquarters is examining the licenses of some activities managed by individuals lacking the moral requirements provided for by the sector legislation.

Two recreational clubs were closed due to the confirmed serious health and hygiene situation and the owner of a pub was given an administrative fine of €2 for the presence of expired foodstuffs.

During the checks, approximately 20 grams of marijuana, precision electronic scales and other material intended for packaging the drug were seized, and the holder was reported at liberty: a criminal from Cisternino.
