Brindisi: Robbery of two commercial activities, 27-year-old arrested
The Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Francavilla Fontana Company and the Oria Station they arrested a 27-year-old for aggravated robbery and illegal possession of weapons.
The man, armed with a gun and with his face covered by a balaclava, carried out two robberies in quick succession, damaging two commercial businesses; the first to Oria, to the detriment of one pizzeria where, under threat of a gun, he had the owner hand over the takings and then disappeared on foot through the adjacent streets; he reached Santa Susanna Tower where, always under threat of the weapon, he robbed a kiosk having an employee hand over the proceeds, and then suddenly walking away through the surrounding streets.
The investigations, which were quickly started immediately after the events by the military personnel of the Mobile Radio Unit and the aforementioned Station, in synergy with the Operational Unit, and which continued without interruption, consisted in the collection of testimonies of the victims and in the analysis of the images acquired by video surveillance systems extrapolated from a large areaThe collected elements have allowed to identify the robber, already known to the staff of the Oria Carabinieri Station who recognized him by his physical characteristics; the young man was tracked down shortly after in the locality of San Cosimo di Oria on board a car, still wearing the same clothing used during the robberies. During the search the soldiers they found the weapon used to commit the crimes, which was seized together with the clothing.
After the ritual formalities, the arrested man was taken to the Brindisi prison as ordered by the Judicial Authority.
