Brindisi: Man Refuses to Show Documents and Attacks Police, Arrested

In recent months, territorial control services have been further strengthened by Police Chief Giampietro Lionetti, especially in the most frequented areas of the city.

In this context, the State Police officers proceeded to carry out several checks near the Brindisi Railway Station, where a man, of Nigerian origin and illegally resident in the country, he refused to show his documents, first verbally and then physically attacking the police officers.

The promptness and perfect coordination of the Police Headquarters Flying Squad operators allowed us to to block and arrest the man, who had repeatedly attempted to kick the police officers and, once immobilized, had attempted to bite them on the legs. After being taken inside the service car, the young man did not hesitate to violently hit the car window, which was irreparably damaged.

In light of the facts that have occurred, the young man was arrested for resisting and assaulting a public official and was also charged with aggravated damage to the company vehicle. He was then taken to prison, awaiting the validation trial.
