La State Police of Brindisi arrested an Italian citizen, known to the police, found in possession of cocaine, marijuana, material for packaging doses of drugs, almost a thousand euros in cash and apparently counterfeit banknotes.
During the afternoon of the 17th December, following the targeted services arranged in the White City by the Police Chief Giampietro Lionetti, the officers of the Ostuni police station came across the control of an Italian citizen who, on board a car, was arriving in the town centre.
The man, who appeared immediately agitated from the first stages of the control, attracted the attention of the operators who then proceeded to a personal search, of the car in use and of his home. At the end of this activity, the aforementioned narcotic substance was found, cash believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing activity, packaging and weighing material for the drug, as well as apparently counterfeit banknotes. All of this was seized.
Overall, the following were found:
- approximately 34 grams of cocaine,
- approximately 226 grams of marijuana,
- packaging and weighing material,
- virtually 1000 euros in cash,
- some 50 euro banknotes apparently false.
The Public Prosecutor on duty at the Public Prosecutor's Office of Brindisi, informed of the arrest, ordered the man's custody at the Brindisi County Jail, pending the hearing to validate the arrest, scheduled for the next few days before the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Court of Brindisi.
