“Tea at Palazzo Santacroce”: third appointment to introduce you to tea tasting.
The cultural initiative continues in San Gemini (Terni). Tacconi-Ottelio Group, to liven up the area and its particularities. “Tea at Palazzo Santacroce”, after the success of the two previous meetings, will allow guests to get closer to tasting tea in a convivial atmosphere.
The two events of recent weeks saw the participation of the international taster and tea and coffee expert Antonello Biancalana, founder of the DiWineTaste website. The third meeting will take place on Sunday 16 April at 16.30 pm at Palazzo Santacroce of the Grand Hotel San Gemini. You can sip various types of green tea, while also tasting small pastries and miniature sandwiches, produced by the facility.
We will move from sipping white tea - rich in potassium and magnesium - to dried tea. Since tea has an effect that varies depending on how it is prepared, the various methods will be shown. We will also emulate the English Afternoon Tea, whose tradition began in the mid-800th century, and which was born as a reason for aggregation. It will be sipped in porcelain cups, which emphasize the aromas of the drink. Anecdotes will also be told about tea, a drink created by the Chinese noble classes over 5000 years ago, so much so that the emperor was paid in tea: it had to be collected by virgin girls who wore gloves. The drink was imported to Europe in 1610 by the Portuguese.
"Tea at Palazzo Santacroce” is organized by the Tacconi-Ottelio group, and by the Grand Hotel San Gemini.
The cost of the tasting is 15 Euros per person (with small pastries and sandwich mignon), and reservations are recommended. All information on https://www.grandhotelsangemini.com/appuntamenti
