Teramo, the “No to racism” project for inclusion through sport is underway.
This morning, in the press room of the Bonolis stadium, an important event was presented Awareness project on welcoming and valorising diversity, promoted by the Municipality of Teramo, the SAI project of Teramo and the FIGC, with the support of ANCI national, the Paralympic and Experimental Football Division and LND Abruzzo.
The initiative, entitled “No to racism. Promoting respect and inclusion through a ball”, Will be held on 22 March in the Bonolis stadium, on the occasion of the National Day Against Discrimination (March 21). The goal is to valorise football as a tool for inclusion and the fight against discrimination.
The day will start with a conference on the issues of immigration, racism and integration, coordinated by the councilors Stefania Di Padova and Alessandra Ferri, with the participation of the FIGC director Dora Anna Bendotti and the main national and regional institutions. At the same time, the matches of the Interregional Day of the DCPS-FIGC Tournament, with the participation of level I and III athletes.
The afternoon will end with a special football match between the LND Representative “Abruzzo Insieme”, composed by young immigrants registered with LND, and the Representative of local institutions, which will also include some beneficiaries of the SAI Project of Teramo.
Exceptional guest will be Ubaldo Righetti, former Roma footballer, who will participate in the morning conference and in a link with the broadcast “World Champions” by Rai Radiodue.
The Mayor Gianguido D'Alberto he underlined how the project was born after the acquisition of Bonolis by the Municipality, with the aim of transform it into a point of reference for social and sporting integration. The collaboration with the SAI project of Teramo was defined by the mayor as a virtuous example of inclusion, while Giovanni Sacripante (FIGC) reiterated that Sport is an extraordinary vehicle for overcoming discrimination.
The initiative also received the support of the LND, with the intervention of Massimo Valà, and of the head of the SAI of Teramo, Serena Lupinetti, who highlighted the value of sport in the integration of migrants.
