Teramo: Nigerian citizen expelled after harassing passersby in Piazza Garibaldi.

The State Police tracked down and escorted to the police station a 36-year-old Nigerian man with a criminal record and an expulsion order that had never been complied with.

On Tuesday afternoon the State Police intervened in Piazza Garibaldi, following a report to the Police Headquarters operations room regarding the presence of one foreigner who annoyed the citizens waiting for the bus. The man would have spat on the backpacks of some passers-by and disturbed the others present in the terminal area.

Having received the report, a Defensive Midfielder They immediately began searching for the individual, who had in the meantime left the square. After a brief search along the main street, the officers found him. tracked down, stopped and accompanied to the police station for identification.

Subsequent investigations revealed that the arrested person, a 36 year old Nigerian citizen, was burdened by numerous police records and was the recipient of a order from the Police Commissioner to leave the national territory pursuant to theArticle 14 of the Consolidated Law on Immigration (TUI), a measure which he had never complied with.

In light of these checks, the 36-year-old was expelled from the national territory based on prefectoral decree e escorted by the State Police to the Repatriation Detention Center (CPR) in Palazzo San Gervasio, in the province of Potenza, for the effective execution of the repatriation.

The episode is part of the strategy to intensify controls and presence on the territory arranged by new Police Chief of Teramo, Dr. Pasquale Sorgonà, with the purpose of strengthen perceived security and stability by citizens.
