A House of Emerging Technologies in Campobasso: the Administration's project becomes reality
Gravina: «Financing of around 11 million euros obtained from the MISE»
A House of Emerging Technologies in Campobasso: the Administration's project becomes reality.
The Mise, at the end of the selection of the project proposals presented by 20 Municipalities, as established in the public notice of 17 October 2022, referring to the new Houses of Emerging Technologies to be financed on the national territory, has made known the names of the seven Municipalities that they obtained ministerial funding.
«The Municipality of Campobasso – said the mayor of the regional capital, Roberto Gravina - was among the seven municipalities awarded the coveted financing, so MolisCTE, our project of around 11 million euros, will be financed and we will be able to have, in our region, a House of Emerging Technologies as we had hoped and desired to be able to do , working intensely, in concert with the partners involved».
«The Ministry – added Gravina – recognized the strong qualities of our project proposal, just think that cities like Florence, Milano, Palermo ended behind us and were excluded from funding».
This project will allow the territory to become the headquarters and dynamic hub of one of the new Houses of Technology present in Italy, based at the Cittadella dell'Economia in C.da Selvapiana. MolisCte will be responsible for developing research, open innovation and tech competence transfer activities on two different lines of intervention: that of the City & Intelligent Services for Citizens and Businesses, which will include within it sectors such as Smart Mobility, Campobasso Green and eco-sustainable, valorisation and Management of Tourism and Cultural Heritage for the enhancement of regional identity, and that of Health, Competitiveness, Sportech, Wellness, and Citizen Wellbeing.
This second line of research is based on the use of enabling technologies which will include Health, Wellness, healthy eating and sustainable agriculture.
«Essentially – the mayor declared in conclusion – Campobasso opens the doors to development, innovation and research as has never happened in the past in our region, encouraging a future of growth that we want to base, together with all the partners we have involved, above all on giving new job opportunities to the young generations , putting a stop to the depopulation dynamics that affect our entire territory».
The Houses of Emerging Technologies are technology transfer centers that are promoted by the Ministry, within the 5G technologies support program, to combine the scientific skills of universities and research institutions with the needs of businesses.
The interventions of the tender, it should be remembered, were aimed at the Municipalities, as beneficiaries, in which an ultra-broadband network in 5G mobile technology had to be present, as leader of a partnership made up of Italian Universities and/or Research Centers and companies, SMEs and/or start-ups established in Italy or with an operational headquarters in Italy.
The project investigation procedure was concluded, as expected, by December 25th with a ranking approved by the MISE and made public on the Ministry's website where the administrations which, together with Campobasso, will receive the coveted funding are indicated.
