Taranto: two off-duty police officers rescue and save a man who fell down a cliff with his car.
The State Police rescued and saved a man who fell with his car into a ditch.
Two police officers from the 7th Mobile Unit of Taranto, returning from their shift along the State Road XNUMXter in the direction of Carosino, noticed smoke and lights coming from a cliff on a side road
Suspicious, they decided to stop to find out what was in that embankment.
As soon as they entered the country road they immediately noticed an overturned car at the bottom of the particularly steep ravine and not visible from the road.
Despite not having the appropriate equipment, using their cell phone lights to help them, they went down the slope and helped the driver of the overturned car who was clearly in a state of confusion.
The police managed to provide first aid to the man, a thirty-year-old resident of a neighboring town waiting for the arrival of the 118 paramedics, and to cordon off the area made extremely dangerous by the fuel leaking from the tank of the overturned vehicle.
Only after a few minutes did they reassure the family members, answering the injured boy's cell phone which continued to ring incessantly.
The injured man was then rushed to SS. Annunziata where he is still hospitalized and fortunately his life is not in danger.
