Taranto: they attack an elderly gentleman inside the railway station, arrested by the State Police.

The State Police arrested two Moroccan citizens aged 42 and 25, presumed responsible for the crime of attempted aggravated robbery.

The staff of the Taranto Railway Police Section, through the images of the video surveillance system inside the Railway Station, were alerted by some travellers about an assault, by two men, against an elderly man in the ticket office hall.

The police officers, after having assisted the victim, collected the first testimonies from which it emerged that the two alleged attackers had attempted to steal the wallet from the elderly man, beating him and throwing him to the ground.

Thanks to the viewing of the images from the internal circuit of the video surveillance system of the Station, the police officers recognized the alleged perpetrators of the attack as two individuals of North African origin who at that moment were moving away from the Station.

During the check, one of the two was also found in possession of a knife hidden in his personal clothing.

Once the documents were forwarded to the competent Judicial Authority, the two were arrested and transferred to the Taranto District Prison.
