Taranto: Drunk man attacks bar employees and rants at police, 35-year-old arrested

The State Police has a 35 year old man was arrested and is presumed responsible for the crimes of resistance, violence, threats, insulting a public official, attempted robbery and refusal to provide information on his identity. The Flying Squad personnel intervened in a bar of the very central Via Di Palma where a young man had been reported who, visibly drunk, had gone berserk, threatening and attacking the staff of the club. The young man already altered, at the sight of the policemen, he allegedly became even more agitated, uttering insulting phrases towards them and, when asked to show his documents for subsequent identification, he also tried to physically attack them.

After a few tense moments, the 35-year-old was brought back to his senses and made to get into the car with no small amount of difficulty. Once the situation was calmed down, the officers, collecting the first testimonies from the bar employees, gathered useful clues to believe that the young man, after having consumed a few glasses of liquor, he allegedly refused to pay the bill and physically attacked the two waiters until the decisive arrival of the patrol car of the State Police. The documents were forwarded to the competent Judicial Authority, the 35-year-old was arrested and taken to the local prison.
