Taranto Police Headquarters, the Disabilty Card project is activated.
Starting tomorrow, December 3, on the occasion of the International Day of People with Disabilities, the Taranto Police Headquarters will launch the "Disability Card" project.
Always the State Police has demonstrated that it is at the service of citizens and, in particular, has always supported initiatives to support the most vulnerable and fragile categories.
The project allows users with disabilities to take advantage of a facilitated route for carrying out some services of the Taranto Police Headquarters:
Anti-Crime Division – WARNING Requests
Administrative and Social Police Division - WEAPONS OFFICE
UPGSP – COMPLAINTS OFFICE
The aim of the initiative is to prevent waiting times and the presence of large numbers of people to access the aforementioned offices from being a source of further inconvenience for the most vulnerable users.
The possibility of accessing this preferential route will only be permitted to holders of the "European Disability Charter” (so-called Disability Card).
The European Disability Card is a card issued by INPS upon application of the interested party and is valid until the foreseen disability condition persists and, in any case, for no more than 10 years from release.
Also in this case the policemen from the Taranto Police Headquarters wanted to tend the hand to people with disabilities, thus demonstrating that the activity of the State Police is not limited only to the repression of crimes but also to the prevention and training of a social conscience that allows the disabled person to express himself fully.
The Project is part of the broader initiatives organized by Department of Public Safety through the now consolidated activity carried out byOSCAD – Observatory for Security against Discriminatory Acts. It is a body chaired by Deputy Director General of the PS - Central Director of the Criminal Police and is made up of representatives of the State Police, the Carabinieri and the departmental branches of competent for the matter from time to time.
The mission is to give constant impetus to the action of preventing and combating discriminatory crimes, increasing the awareness of police operators on the importance of protecting, in the most effective way possible, the fundamental rights of the individual, paying maximum attention to the specific protection and support needs of particularly vulnerable victims.
