46-year-old Taranto man reported for crime simulation: He fakes robbery to justify missing money

The State Police has a 46-year-old man from Taranto was reported at large as being presumed responsible for the crimes of simulating a crime and causing alarm. A crew of the Flying Squad went near a supermarket located in the Paolo Sesto district where a robbery had been reported involving a salesman delivering food products. The visibly shaken man told the police that he was approached by a man on a bicycle who, disguised by a balaclava, after threatening him, probably brandishing a small knife, he took possession of the wedding ring and the money collected up to that point.

His statements immediately appeared confused and inconsistent, so much so as to raise suspicions about the real dynamics of the alleged robbery. The investigators of the Flying Squad listened to the commercial agent and, not convinced by the version provided, they managed to get him to admit the real dynamics of the facts: in a flood of tears, the man – who he claimed was suffering from gambling addiction – declared that he had simulated the robbery in order to justify to his company the lack of money that he would have used to pay off previous gambling debts.. The documents have been forwarded to the competent Judicial Authority, the 46-year-old was reported at large.
